Cabinet meeting today

GK NEWS NETWORK

Srinagar, May 11: Jammu and Kashmir government is expected to revoke `No-Work No-Wages’ and Essential Services Maintenance Ordinance (ESMA), as the state council of ministers meets here on Wednesday.
Informed sources told Greater Kashmir that the chief minister Omar Abdullah will chair the cabinet meeting at 5 PM, in the civil secretariat.
Though the agenda of the meeting was not circulated among the ministers, till late this evening, sources said some important decisions are expected.
If sources are to be believed, the meeting is likely to revoke its earlier decision of imposing `No-Work No-Wages’ policy and ESMA on account of the employees’ strike. Thousands of employees across the state have not received the monthly wages of April till date due to the policy imposed by the state, while number of employees’ union leaders has been booked under ESMA.
The cabinet sub committee, dealing with the employees’ demands, has also assured that the matter would be put before the cabinet for final decision.
Sources said a reshuffle in civil and police administration is also expected in the meeting, though the decision would be subject to the unanimity among the cabinet colleagues.
