CM calls on Governor

Srinagar, May 11: Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, called on the Governor, N N Vohra, at Raj Bhavan, here this evening.
 According to an official handout, during the more than hour-long discussion, the Chief Minister briefed the Governor on various important issues relating to the governance, including certain legislative matters.
 Pertinently, the Governor is yet to return the amended Inter-District Recruitment Bill passed by the state legislature during the budget session. There are reports that the Governor may not give his assent to the bill in view of some legal issues involved in the matter.
 The Chief Minister, according to the official handout, also briefed the Governor about the development and welfare projects, particularly power projects in pipeline. They also reviewed the overall security situation and certain measures underway for tightening existing arrangements on the ground in certain parts of the State.
