Reservation for SCs a big conspiracy: Geelani

UMER MAQBOOL DAR

Watergam, (Rafiabad) May 11: A day after the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, said that eight percent reservation in job bill for Schedule Castes would not change the demography of the state, the Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Shah Geelani on Tuesday contested his assertion saying, “ The bill is a part of conspiracy to turn Kashmiris into minority.”
“There is no guarantee for Muslims to get a job but for Scheduled Castes a special reservation has been made. Once they (SCs) get a job they will settle here along with their families and along with the passage of time they will outnumber Kashmiris,” Geelani said while addressing a gathering here in north Kashmir.
He said that reservation for SCs in jobs would allow people from Jammu, Kathua, Udhampur and Akhnoor to settle down in  the Valley. “They (SCs) will do what Israelis did in Palestine. The bill is a part of a bigger game plan,’ he added.
He said that Biharis were threat to the identity of Kashmiris.
