Omar asks SKIMS to advertise Director’s post
DANISH NABI
Srinagar, May 12: The Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, on Wednesday asked the management of Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Soura to advertise its director’s post at national level.
“The Chief Minister, who chaired the meeting of the SKIMS governing body held after a gap of three years, directed the SKIMS officials to advertise the post as per the new guidelines adopted by the institution and other health institutes at all India level,” sources told Greater Kashmir.
Pertinently, Dr Abdul Hamid Zargar had been appointed as the Director of the prestigious institute under an interim arrangement during Congress led regime a few years ago.
When contacted Dr Zargar confirmed that the Chief Minister had passed directions to advertise the prestigious post. “For so many years we have been demanding that the issue of the appointment of the director should be sorted out. The Chief Minister gave his nod today,” he added.
