CB, VO team raids CAPD office
SYED AMJAD SHAH
Jammu, May 13: A joint team of State Vigilance Organization (SVO) and Crime Branch (CB) of Jammu and Kashmir police today raided the office of Director Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution.
Sources said the joint team of both the organizations raided the CAPD office after it received the information about the outgoing director, who was transferred on Wednesday, was carrying out some illegal transactions before handing over the charge.
However, the team had to return disappointed as it could not find any illegal transactions in the office. “The operation failed as information about the raid had been leaked,” sources added.
“We had received information that some illegal transactions are taking place in lieu of allotment of supply orders, following which a team of VO and CB sleuths went to the office premises”, the SSP Crime Branch told Greater Kashmir
“However, no arrest or seizure of records was made as the team found nothing illegal in the office,” he added.
