Bone densitometry camp for poor patients

Srinagar: Aisha Medical Centre MA Road is organizing a free bone densitometry camp on 24 and 25th of May 2010.
 Dr Javaid (MD) who is organising the medical camp said it will focus on screening patients osteoporosis. “The disease  has no early symptoms but if left unchecked and untreated can cause easy fractures with dangerous consequences if it involves a vital structure like the spinal cord,” he said.
 He said the bone densitometry costs Rs 1800-2500 at various centers.
 “This is a unique chance for any one to register and get his/her bone mass checked with a nominal registration fee of Rs 100,” he said.
