Budgam +2 lecturers elect body

Srinagar, May 15: The plus two lecturers of district Budgam today elected Syed Fayaz Ahmad as district president of Jammu and Kashmir Plus Two Lecturers’ Forum and G M Dar as district vice-president.
The elections to this effect were conducted today through secret ballot box at Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Budgam, under the supervision of Forum’s district electoral officer Ali Muhammad Mala. Syed Abdul Rouf, CPEO Budgam, Muhammad Usman Malik and Majeed Bhat were observers.
The district body constituted on the occasion comprises Syed Fayaz Ahmad, district president, G M Dar, vice-president, Sheikh Zahoor Ahmad, district Secretary, Shakeel Ahmad, organizer, Muhammad Shafi Mir, publicity secretary, G M Malik treasurer, and Javid Ahmad Banday, spokesman.
Besides, Muhammad Amin, Maqbool Javid, Abdul Rashid Mala and Bashir Ahmad Ganai were elected as representatives for the central executive body.
The state president Muhammad Usman on the occasion stressed upon the lecturer fraternity to work honestly, dedicatedly and wholeheartedly for the academic excellence of the student community. He urged upon the government to fulfil the demands including regularisation of in-charge lecturers thorough Public Service Commission within three months as assured by the state cabinet, placement of senior lecturers, caderization at divisional level. He thanked the government particularly education minister Peerzada Muhammad Syeed, the commissioner secretary school education G A Peer and the director school education, Kashmir, Shugufta Parveen, for fulfilling their commitment on appointing joint secretaries and director academics in BOSE from school education department. “They had, at a meeting held in the standing council BOSE in November 2009, assured the president J&K Lecturers Forum that the officers from the school department would be placed on these posts,” said a spokesman of the Forum in a statement today.
Usman urged the government to fill all the 100 vacancies of principals in the department as early as possible. (Advt)
