Weather hits tourist inflow

Patnitop, May 15: The unusual weather conditions across the Jammu region, have hit the tourist inflow in this hilly resort on Srinagar-Jammu highway.
Though the number of tourists during the first 15-days of May have shown a slight increase as compared to last year, officials said that the unusual cold and continuous rains have kept the tourist away.
As per the official figures, around 2, 88108 tourists visited this hilly resort in the year 2008, while the number increased to 3,08305 in 2009. “Most tourists prefer to visit Patnitop between May and August in summers,” sources said.
