Bus service from Kokernag to Innshen starts

Srinagar, May 16: The R&B Minister, G M Saroori today flagged off first ever direct bus service from Kokernag to Innshen, connecting south Kashmir with Kishtwar district.
 “This road would not only bring close people of Kishtwar and Islamabad, but also pave the way for ensuring timely supply of essentials to Innshen”, he said addressing public.
 He said Rs 4.50 crore had been spent on the road and efforts would be made to make it fair weather road. The Innshen people were without bus facility for many decades, Saroori said and reaffirmed the government’s resolve to connect inaccessible areas through road network.
 He said the Centre had approved Rs 1467 crore under 7th phase of PMGSY, which can facilitate the State to construct new roads besides extending the road network in every district.
