Art exhibition awards announced

Srinagar: The Academy of Art, Culture and Languages on Monday announced the annual state art exhibition awards for 2009-10.
In the artist category, the first prize has been bagged by Masood Tabish Nagushbandhi for painting while Chander Prakash has won the second prize for sculpting. Both will get Rs 51,000 each.
In the student category, Renu Bala and Narinder Kumar Bhagat have won a cash award of Rs 10,000 each. Milan Sharma, Shoba Thakur, Kanchan Verma, Manoj Chopra and Arshad Sualeh have been awarded under the certificate of merit artist category and would receive cash prize of Rs 1000 each.
