Dialogue resumption
This refers to resumption of dialogue between India and Pakistan first time after the Mumbai carnage. It seems an understanding has emerged between the two countries after the meeting of the two prime ministers at Thimpu recently. In the forthcoming foreign ministers’ meet in Pakistan all outstanding issues including Kashmir are going to be discussed. But the question is: which proposal are they doing to discuss? Musharaf’s or what? Musharaf’s formula on Kashmir is acceptable to India to some extent and the reports from Pakistan suggest that present Government is taking the formula positively. But here in Kashmir there are some sections which are openly opposing the Musharaf’s policy terming this as a compromise on Kashmir. Musharaf’s s formula envisages complete demilitarization in Jammu and Kashmir. Therefore the people opposing the formula must understand its importance.
