Govt to provide free treatment to poor, senior citizens
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, May 17: The Government would provide free treatment and medicines to all poor patients during their hospitalization.
“Sufficient funds for the purchase of medicines and other facilities have been placed at the disposal of health institutions,” the Heath Minister, Sham Lal Sharma said while chairing a meeting of the Health Department.
He said Government had improved the working conditions for the doctors and paramedics and no laxity would be tolerated from them. “The poor performers will face the music, whereas the best would be suitably awarded and promoted,” he said.
Concerned over the non-implementation of some instructions by the officers, he directed the Director Health Services, Kashmir to ensure computerization of records of all District Hospitals by first week of June.
He also directed for displaying the facilities and details of medicines available for the patients information.
He asked the Chief Medical Officers/Block Medical Officers to conduct visits and assess medical facilities in the rural areas.
