44th board meeting of JKSSPD held

Srinagar, May 18: The 44th meeting of Board of Directors of J&K Sheep and Sheep Products Development Board was held here today to review the functioning of the Board.
Minister for Animal/ Sheep Husbandry, Science and Technology and Information Technology, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi presided the meeting. Minister of State for Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Aijaz Ahmad, besides, MLA, Vikar Rasool were also present. Ruhullah, while addressing the meeting said that the sector has vast economic and employment potential in the State which needs to be exploited fully. He enjoined upon the functionaries to utilized modern technologies for boosts sheep husbandry sector. He called for providing essential training of computer to the employees of the Board for maintenance of records both in accounts and stores. He also called for engagement of consultant for revival of Wool Board. The meeting was informed that out of Rs. 94.48 lakh, an amount of Rs. 67.26 lakh stand released for the construction of first unit of slaughter- house at Wanihama, Srinagar. The work on the project is almost complete except water and power supply. The Board was instructed to go ahead with the construction of compound walling and starting of the first unit of the Abattoir. A abattoir on modern lines is also being constructed by Jammu Municipal Corporation at Jammu, the meeting was told.
