Batamaloo colony sans Rangil supply

Residents appeal Taj Mohi-ud-Din

GK NEWS NETWORK

Srinagar, May 1: The residents of Dhobi Mohalla, Shah Faisal Abad Batamaloo have said even though their neighbourhood was getting “good water supply” from the Rangil pipeline, their colony was being ignored.
A delegation of the residents led by President Welfare Committee Dhobi Mohalla, Abdul Kabir Bhat said the colony was getting poor water supply.
“The supply is erratic because at times we aren’t provided with the potable water for days together and finally we have to remain at the beck and call of the water tankers,” Bhat said.
This, he said, wasn’t the case with the adjoining areas.
The locals said the pipeline fed by the Rangil was providing water in between the Bypass and the Police Station Batmaloo.
“But Police Station onwards, the water supply wasn’t extended only because some blue-eyed people didn’t allow the road to be dug for laying of the pipeline,” the committee  President said.
The locals appealed the PHE Minister, Taj Mohi Din to get the pipeline extended.
Meanwhile, the Executive Engineer, PHE, Srinagar, Rafi Ahmed Malik said the matter was being looked into.
“If the people are facing problem, I assure that the water supply from the Rangil line will be extended to them at an earliest,” he said.
“The matter could be in the pipeline, I will get it cleared at an earliest,” the engineer said.
