Police files case against Masrat: relatives

Accuses him of waging war against State

GK NEWS NETWORK

Srinagar, May 1: The police has filed a case against the incarcerated Muslim League chairman, Masrat Alam, accusing him of waging a war against the State, even though he is under detention for past three years.
The relatives of detainee told Greater Kashmir that the police had registered an FIR 10/2010 in Counter Intelligence Kashmir against and charged Masrat under section 120-B, 121 (A) RPC, 13, 17, 18 UL (P).
Earlier, the High Court on April 8 quashed the detention of Masrat under Public Safety Act and directed the state to release him if not required in connection with any other case. Subsequently, after his ‘release’ from Kathua Jail, Masarat was re-arrested and sent to Central Jail Srinagar.
Meanwhile, in a statement issued here the Muslim League said a local court has extended by 10 days the judicial remand of Masrat.
