CM for fast-track completion of City projects

 Srinagar, May 19: The Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Wednesday –sought fast track execution of all ongoing projects in the summer capital –directing the administration to gear-up its men and machinery at all levels, an official handout said.
 The CM, as per the handout, directed that “all works be completed within the fixed timeline.”
 Omar said it during his tour of Zadibal constituency adding that he would soon call a high level meeting to review the ongoing projects in the City.
 The CM inspected laying of sewerage pipeline from Sadarbal to Bagh-i-Ali Mardan Khan and the road condition in this area.
 He directed the R&B Department to start immediate repairs wherever required to enable smooth traffic movement.
 Omar inspected works at Gill Kadal area and around Khushal Sar.
 He visited Hawal Chowk and took stock of ongoing works from Hawal to Islamia College.
 The local MLA Peer Afaq Ahmad, who accompanied the CM, explained various urgent actions needed for fast tracking the works and removing of bottlenecks in the constituency. He also presented a list of development demands of his constituency and requested the Chief Minister for further upgradation of power transmission and distribution system in Zadibal constituency.
 A team of engineers and district officers connected with the City development works were present during the tour and the Chief Minister had brief from them about the status of different works.
 The Chief Minister urged the officers to make public service benchmark of their functioning and stick to the completion of development works according to the scheduled and targeted time frame, utilizing funds judiciously and maintaining the quality.
 The official handout added: “Government has already put in place three-tier monitoring of works in the state to ascertain the status of schemes and performance of the concerned agencies regularly.”
Omar interacted with people at Sadarbal, Omar Colony, Buta Shah mohalla, Lal Bazar, Bagh-i-Ali Mardan Khan, Gill Kadal, Shree Bhat, Khushal Sar and Hawal and heard their suggestions and demands for upgrading and fast tracking works in these areas.
