Leaders pay tributes to Rajiv Gandhi

Srinagar/Jammu, May 21: Various leaders have paid glowing tributes to the former Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi on his 19th death anniversary.
Chief Minister
Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah also paid tributes to Rajiv Gandhi.
In his message, he described Rajiv Gandhi as a leader who pioneered Information Technology revolution and strengthened Panchayati Raj System. Rajiv was a staunch believer of Gandhian philosophy and believed in the egalitarian concept of a society and equitable development of every section of the society, he added.
Union MoS for Communication & IT
Union Minister of State for Communication and Information Technology, Sachin Pilot today attended a seminar held on Rajiv’s anniversary.
Pilot described Rajiv a great visionary leader who pioneered the cause of promoting information technology in the country.
Earlier, he also visited the Gurjar Centre for Culture and Heritage being raised by Gurjar Desh Charitable Trust and its library.
Deputy Chief Minister
Deputy Chief Minister said Rajiv dreamt of self reliant and technologically forward India.
Addressing a gathering, he said the economic self reliance, which the country boasts, roots to the policies of the Government led by Rajiv Gandhi during mid 80s.
JKPCC Chief
JKPCC chief, Prof. Saif-ud-Din Soz said Rajiv Gandhi was a dynamic leader who served the nation and the countrymen with dedication and devotion. He said Rajiv was involved in peoples’ service.
R&B Minister
The R&B Minister, G M Saroori today said, India wants friendly relations with its neighbours including Pakistan which were in the interests of the people.
Paying tributes to former PM Late Rajiv Gandhi on his 19th Death Anniversary here, he said Gandhi was the icon of young India who strengthened the Panchayati Raj.
