NRKs pay tributes to Mirwaiz, Lone

Islamabad, May 21: Non Resident Kashmiris (NRKs) on Friday paid glowing tributes to MirwaizMoulvi Muhammad Farooq and Abdul Gani Lone, assassinated on this very day in 1990 and 2002 respectively.    
 Diplomats, journalists and Kashmiri leaders while speaking at a seminar “Human Rights Violations in Kashmir and International Community’s Role” organized by Hurriyat Conference (M) highlighted the roles played by late Mirwaiz and Lone in the Kashmir struggle. “Names of both the leaders will be written with golden words in the history of Kashmir,” speakers said.
 They urged the international community to take cognizance of “victimization of Kashmiris” and act.
 Participants were of the view that unity and concurrence had to be established at all levels to take the ongoing struggle to its logical end. “In view of the changes sweeping across the globe, pro-freedom leaders must show wisdom and political acumen and unite,” they said.
 The speakers included AkramZaki – former foreign secretary of Pakistan, PaK Legislative Assembly Speaker Shah GhulamQadir, SardarAttique Ahmed Khan, APHC convener Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, Sardar Khalid Ibraheem Khan, Dr Z U Khan and Amanullah Khan, Syed YousufNaseem, FaizNaqashbandi, Rafique Ahmed Dar, AltafWani and others. Pak president Raja Zulqarnain Khan also spoke on the occasion.
 The seminar adopted a resolution calling for release of political detainees including Shabir Ahmed Shah, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, MasratAalamBhat and others.
 Meanwhile, another seminar organized by Kashmir Liberation Cell was held in Muzaffarabad wherein rich tributes were paid to MirwaizMoulviFarooq and Abdul Gani Lone.

GKNN ADDS FROM SRINAGAR
 The Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association (HCBA) paid rich tributes to the slain leaders.
  In a statement a HCBA spokesman said, “In memory of Shaheed-i-Milat, MirwaizMoulanaFarooq and Shaheed-i-Hurriyat, Abdul Gani Lone, lawyers suspended their work and abstained from appearing before honourable courts as a mark of respect,”
 The spokesman urged the people to forge a principled unity in the ranks and file and rise to occasion.
 The chairperson of the Dukhtarn-e-MillatAsiyaAndrabi while paying rich tributes to both the slain leaders said, “Best tribute to martyrs is to remain firm on our cause.”  
 Maulana Bashir Ahmad Farooqui, Imam-o-Khateeb, Hazratbal shrine, while paying rich tributes to late Mirwaiz said, “He demonstrated his able leadership and farsightedness during Moi-e-Muqadas movement.”
 Prof K  DFarooqui, of the Sub AuqafHazratbal also paid rich tributes to the late leaders.
