Militants escape in Handwara
GK NEWS NETWORK
Handwara, May 22: Militants managed to give a slip to troopers in this frontier area, nearly 70 kms from Srinagar, on Saturday, police sources told Greater Kashmir.
They said troopers of 21 RR and 1-Para cordoned off the Bawan forests in Handwara this morning and launched searches. “Militants present there opened fire on the search party and tried to break the cordon. The exchange of fire continued for sometime after which militants managed to escape,” sources said.
They said searches were on when reports last came in.
