Jamiat launches drive against poppy cultivation

Srinagar, May 23: The Jamiat Ahlihadith Jammu and Kashmir has started campaign against poppy cultivation and has asked people to join it.
Addressing people at Ribbon Baripora Kulgam, the Jamait president Moulana Showkat Ahmad Shah said that the drug culture and the weirdness had hit the very foundation of Kashmiri society. “If drug culture is not tackled now it would have devastating consequences,” he said, adding that it is responsibility of people to support the Jamait cause.
Moulana Showkat said that the people should show unity in keeping youth away from weirdness.
