IAS craze: that is simply not done!
This refers to the recent selection of Kashmiri candidates in IAS 2010. It is true that the IAS selectees have made Kashmiri society proud and they definitely have become the trend setters in academic environment in Kashmir. But that is not the end of everything and that should not lure all the aspiring students toward administrative line. If everybody begins to prepare for IAS exam, then who is going to excel in science and other important areas. If we observe things in a deeper sense the overall progress of our society depends on scientific technology. The administrative line in the present times, at least, is anti-people and anti-progressive because of the deep-rooted corruption and mockery.
These administrative kings are in fact the kings of corruption who consistently invent advanced ways of corruption and deceiving people. On the other hand scientists and technocrats like engineers, doctors, agriculturists, etc are the real heroes of our developing society. So my advice to youth is to opt more for jobs like these rather than the administrative services. Our children should have more interest in science and work hard. We should encourage students to crack exams like IIT-JEE, AIIMS, CAT and other such important exams. We should make sure our students have made it to big institutes like IIT, AIIMS, IISc, IIM, BARC, ISRO, DRDO, international competitions like physics Olympiad, chemistry Olympiad, subjects like genetic engineering, nanotechnology, astrophysics, stem cell research and other such areas.
