AI FLIGHTS GROUNDED
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, May 25: Three flights of the Air India were grounded at the Srinagar ‘International’ Airport on Monday following “abrupt” flash strike by its crew members and maintenance engineers.
Sources said two passenger flights and an Army chartered flight were suddenly grounded after the engineers came to know about the “all-India level” strike by its engineers and crew members over different demands.
The flights have occupied the airport bay and are grounded at the airport
overnight, causing anguish among the commercial airlines over the possible delay in the flight operation on Wednesday. “If they continued to occupy the bay, there may be some disruption in the flight operation on Wednesday as we don’t have adequate parking space on the runway,” said an airport official.
The strike put hundreds of passengers to trouble. They had to wait at the Srinagar airport for hours together before the authorities finally informed them that the flights have been cancelled.
