2 insurance employees among 3 held for fraud

Srinagar: The Crime Branch has arrested three persons including two employees of an insurance company in two cases of alleged fraud.
 CB arrested Reyaz Ahmad Kapra son of Nazir Ahmad of Lal Bazaar for allegedly misusing the credit card of Muhammad Yousuf Bhat of Budgam and managing fraudulent drawl of Rs 6,450. “The amount was used by the accused for booking air ticket in his name on September 13, 2008,” a statement issued by the CB said adding Reyaz was arrested on Tuesday.
 In another case of alleged fraud, two employees of Oriental Insurance Company were arrested for “fabricating” fire insurance policy.
 A fake insurance fire policy pertaining to a residential house/shop of Rs 3,50,000 in the name of Ali Muhammad Sheikh son of Abdul Jabar Sheikh of Bumi, Sopur was prepared by Ghulam Qadir Wani son of Ghulam Muhammad Wani of Ishber, Nishat who was then posted as Assistant-C in the Insurance company Division office, Srinagar while as Anil Koul son of Jawahar Lal Koul of 406-C Shipra Sun City Inderapuram, Gaziabad, UP signed this “fake” policy in the capacity of Development officer during the year 1995-96.
 “This insurance policy was shown issued under Policy No. 00245 which actually pertains to the insurance policy of Somnath Thasu and the collection/receipt Nos. mentioned on it relate to another policy owned by Ali Muhammad Sheikh of Tangpora, Zenemar,” the CB said adding the duo was arrested on Tuesday.
