KCCI members call for EGM

Srinagar, May 26: The members of the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry have asked its secretary general to convene the Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) in accordance with Article 30 (b) of the Memorandum and Articles.
 KCCI executive member, Nasir Hamid Khan, has sent a formal request signed by 127 members to the secretary general seeking discussion on various issues including alleged harassment of traders by the Commercial Taxes Department, absence of a clear policy on building norms and commercial zones in the Valley, and transparency and accountability in accounts of the KCCI.
 “Keeping in view the serious and urgent nature of these issues, you are requested to take immediate steps for convening of the EGM,” the requisition read.
 It requested the SG to include these issues in the agenda of the next executive meeting which is scheduled to be held within the next 4-5 days.
