JKEEGA denounces engineers’ re-employment

Srinagar: The J&K Electrical Engineering Graduates Association today criticized the government’s proposed move to give extension to some Power Development Department officials after their retirement.
 In a statement, its General Secretary Er. Syed Basit Qadri said: “The Association expresses its reservations on granting any such extension/re-employment to any PDD Engineer so that no Engineer is deprived of his legitimate promotion at any level.”
 “We pledge to resist any such move as the same is detrimental to the basic interests of the entire fraternity in particular and PDD in general besides being against the policies of the Government.”
 “In case of any re-employment/extension, the entire community may be constrained to go for non-cooperation with the officer who is reemployed or granted extension in service,” Qadri added.
 He appealed the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah who is also the Power Minister and other Ministers to “oppose any such move of re-employment/grant of extension in the services of any engineer”.
