Geelani taken into preventive custody

Srinagar, May 28: Hurriyat (G) leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani was today taken into preventive custody by police when he came out of his house to offer Frifay prayers.
Police bundled Geelani into a vehicle as soon as he came out of his house at around 12.15 pm and lodged him at police station Humhama, official sources said.
Geelani was placed under house arrest on Sunday evening (May 23) soon after a clash took place between stone pelting youths and security personnel in Habbakadal area in old city.
