SPO kills ASI, shoots self

Jammu, May 2: A special police officer (SPO) posted with the Government Railway Police (GRP) shot dead his senior before killing himself after the duo entered into an argument over some trivial issue.
Police sources said that constable Sonu Sharma posted at Chhan Rorian Railway Police post in district Kathua entered into an argument with his senior Assistant Sub Inspector, Bishan Dass, over some petty issue last night.
They said that after heated argument, Sonu Sharma first fired at Bishan Dass, incharge of the post with his service weapon and later killed himself. Both of them died on the spot.
Police however, failed to know the actual reason behind the extreme step.
Soon after the incident senior police officers rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies of the SPO and ASI to the hospital for post-mortem.
The cases of fratricide, over the years, have witnessed a steep rise among army and para-military forces posted in Jammu and Kashmir. However it is first such case in the railway police.
