Zojila tunnel feasibility report by Oct: Minister

Kargil, May 2: The transport Minister, Qamar Ali Akhoon today said an agency had been engaged for making a feasibility report for construction of Zojila tunnel, which would be submitted by October.
Addressing public at Drass, he said the people of Ladakh and Kargil would be benefited by the tunnel.
He said for the welfare of Kargil people, many schemes had been launched and work for the construction of hostels in Srinagar and Jammu for the student community was under progress. Besides, Rs. 12 crores for the construction of Bus Stand at Kargil has been sanctioned, he said adding Rs. 270 crores for the development of solar energy and Hydel power projects had been sanctioned by the centre.
Akhoon also convened a meeting and reviewed works.
