‘6050 livestock die in Warwan’

Jammu, May 30: Fresh snow fall in upper reaches of Jammu and Kashmir have claimed 6050 livestock belonging to the nomads in Marhawa, Warwan areas of mountainous Kishtwar district, official sources said here on Sunday.
 However, the official sources have denied the reports of loss of human lives in the area.
 A team of officers led by divisional commissioner, Jammu Dr. Pawan Kotwal, besides Member Legislative Assembly Kishtwar Sajad Ahmed Kichloo, who flew to the area today, met the people at Marwah and inquired about the losses.
  “We met with a large number of people and also found huge loss of live stock in the area” Kotwal told Greater Kashmir.
  The divisional commissioner put the total loss of live stock to 6050 which include 4500 sheep and goat, 1500 horses and 50 cows.
