Badamvaer Park
This refers to a crowd pulling spot called Badamvaer. Appearance can be deceptive. This holds true with the Badamvaer Park in Srinagar. Abusing and fighting among miscreants is a routine in the Park now. Vagabonds have a field day, making the movement of visitors difficult. Recently CRPF and JK Police cops were chased away by a mob, leading to stone pelting. The mob was chased away only after additional CRPF men were called in. You can imagine the plight of local residents who are forced to lock their residences from 5 PM. The traffic jam which usually takes place in the parking area is another worry for the locals. In case of emergency in, a patient will die on road because of wrong parking by visitors to the Park. It is time the authorities think of such issues and address them so that the locals and visitors heave a sigh of relief.
