Soz raises cancellation of Sgr-Dubai flight in Rajya Sabha
SHEIKH AHMED
New Delhi, May 6: The President of the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee, Prof Saifuddin Soz, on Thursday raised the issue of cancellation of Srinagar-Dubai flight in Rajya Sabha.
“Two years ago, Air India started Srinagar-Dubai flight with great fanfare. It is very unfortunate that the flight was withdrawn without any valid reasons. I strongly urge the Minster of Civil Aviation to restore the flight immediately as its withdrawal has disappointed people of Kashmir,” Soz told Rajya Sabha.
He said the Aviation ministry should also connect Srinagar-Dubai flight with Jeddah as it would enable scores of the people to also go for Ummrah directly from Srinagar.
“I further urge the Union Minister of Civil Aviation to consider my proposal to connect Srinagar with other important destinations in the Gulf such as Jeddah, Sharjah, Muscat, Tehran, Kuwait and other places,” Soz added.
