Mirwaiz welcomes resumption of Indo-Pak talks

ZULFIKAR MAJID

Srinagar, May 7: Welcoming the resumption of Indo-Pak dialogue process, the Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Friday said if both the countries move forward with sincerity and adopt positive approach, Hurriyat would extend its support and cooperation for the success of the parleys.
“We welcome the resumption of the process and will support it if it is aimed at finding a permanent solution to K-issue,” Mirwaiz told a Friday congregation at historic Jamia Masjid here.
“Without making progress on Kashmir issue Indo-Pak talks on water issues, Sir Creek and Siachen are bound to fail,” he added.
Terming the involvement of Kashmiri leadership in the dialogue process, as mandatory, he said, “No headway can be made without involving the true representatives in the parleys. We welcome Pakistan Foreign Minister, statement about taking Kashmiri leadership on board. We hope New Delhi will also do the same.”
