Policeman killedin mishap

Srinagar, Oct 31: A policeman was killed and four others injured in road accidents in Valley today.Constable Javaid Ahmad Mir, posted with 10th battalion of Indian Reserve Police, died on-the-spot when his motorcycle was hit by a truck near JVC hospital here, police spokesman said.
He said the pillion rider, Bilal Ahmad Bhat, was injured in the accident and admitted in the hospital.
In a separate incident, three policemen-head constable Ram Prasad, selection grade constable Satpal Singh and constable Ganesh Datt-were injured when their official vehicle collided with a truck and a tanker near Chandhara crossing at Awantipora, on Srinagar-Jammu highway, he said.
The injured cops, posted with police headquarters, were on their way to Jammu as part of the biannual Durbar move, he added.
