Srinagar, Nov 9: Seeking release of their salaries pending for past five months, the employees of All State Agro Industries Development Corporation today appealed to chief minister, Omar Abdullah to intervene in the issue to address their problem.The employees under the banner of All State Agro Industries Development Corporation Employees’ Association said their salaries remained withheld for the past five months. The employees in a statement said they and their families were facing acute problems because of non-availability of salary. “Even as Eid is just a few days ahead, we have not yet been given our salaries that are pending for the last five months,” they said. The employees apprehended that since the senior officials of the corporation had gone to Jammu, “they will release their salaries there on Eid without caring for us.”They accused the higher ups in the corporation of discriminating against the employees in the Valley, while their counterparts in Jammu had been provided with the salaries on the eve of Diwali.
 The employees said they had already raised the issue along with other problems the corporation is facing with chief minister through a memorandum. “The chief minister had asked the management of the corporation to submit a report in this regard within two days,” they said, adding that however even though ten days had passed since the directions were issued by the chief minister, the report had yet to be filed by the concerned. The employees appealed to the chief minister to intervene in the issue and issue directions for the release of their salaries on the eve of Eid so that they and their families could celebrate the festival.
