HC rejects Qayoom's bail

Srinagar, Nov 9: The Jammu and Kashmir High Court today rejected the bail application of Kashmir High Court Bar Association president Mian Abdul Qayoom, currently in jail on charges of inciting unrest in the valley.
Justice Muhammad Yaqoob Mir, while dismissing the bail, said it was premature. He, however, said the petitioner can move the High Court or the trial court for his bail.
An FIR was registered against Qayoom, currently lodged at Hiranagar Jail, Jammu, under Public Safety Act by police for his alleged attempt to fuel unrest in Kashmir valley, resulting in law and order problems and disturbance of public peace.
