JKSM welcomes Obama’s K-remarks
Srinagar: J&K Salvation Movement acting chairman, Tufail Altaf Bhat has welcomed the US President, Barrack Obama’s statement that Kashmir was a long pending dispute and urged India to accept the reality and resolve it according to the wishes and aspiration of Kashmiris. In a statement, he said “Obama must pressurize India to repeal black laws which are the source of continued rights violations in Kashmir”.
Nawpora residents appeal census authorities
Srinagar: The residents of Nawpora-A, Daulatabad, have alleged that the locality had not been covered under Census operation till date for unknown reasons.The residents appealed to the director census, J&K, and the district census officer, Srinagar, to look into the matter and direct the officials concerned to carry out census in the locality.
Children’s tour flagged off
Srinagar, Nov 9: Commander 12 Sector Rashtriya Rifles and Deputy Commissioner Shopian flagged off a children’s tour on Monday.
According to an official communiqué, 30 boys and girls belonging to Shopian, Pulwama and Kishtwar accompanied by their teachers embarked on the tour to Mumbai for 12 days. The children would visit places of historical importance including The Gateway of India, Nehru Planetarium, Haji Ali Dargah, Film City and Essel World, the communiqué said.
