Kantroo Sir
I read ZGM's Nostalgia this week. The author had mentioned the human qualities of Late Chaman Lal Kantroo. I had the privilege of knowing Kantroo Sir as we called him when i was a student in his school at Mattan Islamabad (Anantnag). He indeed was a great human being and a dedicated teacher who imparted great values in us. He lived a very simple life and worked very hard. Though he was the principal of the school he would make sure that no class goes unattended due to absences of teacher. If so he would himself attend the class and teach us about various aspects of life. Although being an atheist he never tried to impose his thoughts on us. When I was in class 7th he left the valley in year 1989.That was the last when I saw him. He passed away last year in Jammu. May God bless his soul.
