At WTM London, JK to make presentation on tourism

Srinagar, Nov 10: At the World Tourism Mart at ExCel, London, a presentation on J&K Tourism will be made on November 11.
The WTM, which was flagged off on Tuesday, is a UK event aimed at the global travel industry. On the day the Mart was kick-started, minister of tourism and culture, J&K, who was present there inaugurated the Himalayan Car Rally for 2011.
In this behalf a Himalayan Car Rally Brochure 2011 was released at Le Passage to India Stand, who shall be providing the logistic support to the self drive rallies next year from Ladakh to Kashmir, WTM participants from the Valley informed Greater Kashmir through e-mail.
Giving details they said the brochure was released in presence of Arjun Sharma, MD Le Passage to India, who will be organising these rallies and John Brigden, Managing Director of Worldwide Classic Car Rallies - London, the Promoter of WWCCR.
To mention, the CNE will handle these Rallies in Ladakh and Kashmir. Private Tour Operators from Kashmir also participated in London for WTM.
A Glaxy of UK Press and Tour Operators attended the inaugural function, wherein Kashmir was highlighted by John Bridgen as he had visited Kashmir on a recee tour in August this year.
The presentation on J&K Tourism will be made on Nov 11 at St. James Court Hotel.
Almost 46,000 senior travel industry professionals, government ministers and representatives of the international media, converge on ExCeL London each year in November to attend WTM.
WTM marked its thirtieth anniversary in 2009, and is today a significant opportunity for suppliers in travel industry to negotiate business contracts.
World Travel Market is administered by events organiser Reed Exhibitions (RE), which also organises a portfolio of other travel industry events including Arabian Travel Market and Luxury Travel Market.
Minister of State for Tourism, J&K, Nasir Aslam Wani, Secretary Tourism, Atal Dullo, Director Tourism Kashmir, Farooq Shah, Director Tourism - Jammu and MD JKTDC, Satish Nehru were present on the occasion.
