Mir for upgradation in agriculture farms

Jammu, Nov 10: Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Hassan Mir today stressed on the need for technological upgradation of the Farms of Agriculture Department while making them profitable ventures as well.
He said the officers manning these Farms and showing results on these lines would be suitably rewarded.
Chairing a review meeting of Agriculture Department here today, the Minister said that the aim of the Government is to make these farms as models of Agricultural practices for the farming community of the State. He called for equipping these Farms with the latest agri inputs and techniques, providing an interface between the laboratory and the field.
The Minister in this regard, asked the Farm authorities to update and improve their financial positions and make them financially profitable as well. He also directed them to cover their Farms under the Crop Insurance scheme to make up for the incidental losses to the produce owing to climatic vagaries.
