Rahul visits Leh

Srinagar, Nov 10: Congress General Secretary, Rahul Gandhi Wednesday made a surprise visit to Leh to take stock of the rehabilitation work going on for the victims of the cloud burst in the region.
Reports said Gandhi flew from New Delhi to Leh early morning at 8 am. He straightway drove to Sapu which was followed by a visit to Solar Colony in the Chuglamsar area. The areas were among the places worst hit by the cloud burst. After inspecting the rehabilitation work, Gandhi returned to Delhi at 1:30 pm.
Meanwhile, Union Minister for Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation Kumari Selja also visited Leh today to inspect the ongoing reconstruction work there. The Minister was accompanied by Union Housing Secretary, Kiran Dhingra and a team of officers from Central Government.
The Minister visited the site of reconstruction at Solar Colony, where the flash-flood victims from most devastated area, Choglamsar, are being rehabilitated. She also visited different areas were the rehabilitation work was going on.
