Just introspect
Sustainability is the key to success in the modern era. There is a saying “Bend with the wind, you will never break “. Kashmir experienced it in the era of Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah, who irrespective of being the leader of the masses entered into Sheikh-Indira accord. The other saying says: “Stand Against The Wind”, but there is the risk of break-up. It is being experienced nowadays. Barring Syed Ali Shah Geelani, every other almost broke. But it’s not the question of treason here. What actually matters is the realisation of greater cause of Kashmiriyat. Whosoever has stakes in India or Pakistan is loyal to the respective state. What is to be realized is that two nation theory is a reality which was entertained by Gandhi Ji and Jinnah Sahib. By then J&K was an educationally backward state and the world on the whole a disorganized lot. Now it’s a civilized and responsive platform of nations. So the need if the hour is to think in the broader perspective. Empowerment is the key. When the news like “Baghlihar is defunct, technical snag couldn’t be overcome by Kashmiri Engineers” reveals where do we stand. We are lagging in every field, be it technical or political. Colleges and institutions are the best means to register your protest. The constitution of India advocates freedom. When Arundati Roy and Gautam Navlakha can preach it, what has happened to Kashmiri diaspora? Here lies the question of sustainability.
