31 new dengue cases in Delhi
PRESS TRUST OF INDIA
New Delhi, Nov 12: The capital reported 31 fresh cases of dengue today, taking the total number of patients affected this season to 5,930, officials said.
The cases of dengue generally start showing a downward trend with the advent of winter as low temperature and less humidity are not conducive for the breeding of dengue-carrier aedes aegypti mosquitoes.
However, this season, a substantial number of dengue cases per day was being reported till now.
Eight persons have lost their lives to dengue this season, the officials said.
Delhi also reported three fresh cases of chikungunya, taking the total to 46 this year, they said.
