Lift siege
This refers to the news “Clerics admonish Govt on Jamia Masjid siege.” I think Mirwaiz Umar Farooq is right when he says that the state government’s interference in the religious affairs of people can’t be tolerated anymore. Government must lift curbs on prayers in Jamia Masjid so that the people are allowed to perform their religious obligations without any hassles. It doesn’t augur well with the government to impose restrictions anymore given the fact that the Hurriyat Conference led by Sayed Ali Geelani has diluted the protest programme.
