Work on several Polytechnic colleges to begin soon: Chib
Jammu, Nov 12: Minister for Technical Education, R S Chib today said several Polytechnic Colleges were being constructed in various districts for which land had been identified and execution of work had been allotted to J&K Projects Construction Corporation and Public Works Department respectively.
The districts include Kupwara, Baramulla, Islamabad (Anantnag), Shopian, Kishtwar, Ramban, Rajouri, Ganderbal, Reasi and Kathua.
Addressing a meeting, he said adequate number of staff required had been created and the vacancies were accordingly being filled through proper recruitment process so that the deserving candidates are selected for the purpose. He said that all the Technical Institutions would be equipped with science laboratories to facilitate students’ community to perform their professional study.
The meeting also deliberated upon opening up of new ITI s in Banihal, Nowshara, Bani and Gurez in the first phase and it was decided that with availability of funds, other areas of the State would also be under the expansion of technical education programme.
