Lal Ded Colony road in shambles
ERA ASSURES PRE EID REPAIRS
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Nov 13: The residents of Lal Ded Colony Rawalpora are up in arms against the Economic Reconstruction Agency (ERA) for digging the road for drainage construction but leaving the repairs halfway.
Boulders, which are yet to be levelled, greet the visitors as one enters into the colony road towards the Fire Station.
Driving a vehicle on the road is risky and bothersome.
“I recently suffered a disk problem due to driving on this bumpy track,” said a resident while pointing towards the boulders.
The locals said several reminders to the ERA people bore no fruit.
“ERA has abandoned the work,” the residents said.
When contacted the ERA official heading the drainage project in the area said he was aware of the inconvenience being faced by the people.
“I myself visited the area… It needs immediate road repairs,” he told Greater Kashmir.
The official said the road would be levelled within two days, before Eid-Ul-Azha so that people don’t face inconvenience during the festival.
