Srinagar, Nov 13: The chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front Muhammad Yasin Malik on Friday said that  Kashmiris were highly indebted to to Hazrat Shah-i-Hamdan Mir Syed Ali Hamdani (RA). 
 Paying rich tributes to Amir-i- Kabir (RA) on his Urs Mubarak, Malik said, “Hazarat Amir-i-Kabir (RA) not only spread the concept of Towheed in Kashmir but also worked hard to improve the economic condition of the people. What we need today is that we should emulate our benefactor, put into practice his teachings and make these as inalienable part of our life,”
 Malik, while addressing devotees at historical Khankah-i-Moula here said, “When Amir-i-Kabir (RA) arrived in Kashmir, the people of this land were in pathetic state. It was because of his charisma that they were driven away from darkness and landed in light. He also showed them the way of earning their livelihood and improving their economic conditions. He taught them how to live with honour and dignity. He trained them in the art of wood carving, weaving shawls and carpets, cooking feasts, making paper machie articles and furniture items, construction of buildings. As a result of this, Kashmiris became famous for their handcraft products in the world. The cottage industry thrived and peoples’ economy improved,” he said.
