`40000 fine recovered from ‘erring traders’

Srinagar, Oct 15: During market inspection ahead of Eid ul Azha, the Legal Metrology department has recovered a fine of `40,000 from allegedly erring traders in the City.
 An official spokesman said: “The Inspectors of Legal Metrology under the supervision of Dy Controller and Assistant Controllers intensified the market checking in their territorial jurisdiction and booked more than 100 traders for violating Weights and Measures laws/Packaged Commodities Rules/Consumer Protection Act. A penal sum of about `40,000/= was collected from the defaulters on spot.”
