Govt committed to provide all facilities: Mian Altaf

Baba Nagri (Ganderbal) Nov 15: The Minister for Forest, Environment and Ecology, Mian Altaf Ahmed, on Monday said that National Conference led coalition government was committed to provide all possible facilities including better road connectivity, safe drinking water, electricity, good heatlh care and qualitative education to the children particularly in the rural and backward areas.
“Our government is trying its best to fulfill the promises it had made to the people prior to elections,” Altaf said after inaugurating the Water Supply Scheme Wangath constructed.
He said that in Kangan Constituency projects worth crores of rupees are nearing completion and the work on these projects is in full swing. “To attract more and more tourists to Sonamarg, a new flip has been given to develop the basic infrastructure on the modern lines here,” he added.
The Minister issued instructions to the concerned engineers to immediately lay water pipes in the left out areas so that the whole population of the Baba Nagri is benefited.
Later, the Minister laid the foundation stone of the RS.97 lac Boys High School at Arch-Ganderbal.
Locals also apprised the Minister about the problems like adequate water supply and repair of Mala Lasi Bhat road etc. The Minister assured them that he would take up the matter with the concerned authorities.
