BSNL’s new scheme for landline subscribers

Srinagar, Nov 16: BSNL has announced new scheme for its landline subscribers on eve of Eid. BSNL subscribers can get a free SIM from which they can call their landline free. According to General Manager BSNL, Mahesh Shukla, the scheme has been introduced to retain its landline subscriber base and increase the mobile subscribers respectively. “The scheme is called Home Unlimited Plan and it is exclusively for the BSNL landline customers. All the customers need to do is to submit a copy of last paid bill at our customer service centre and obtain the SIM. From the SIM, the customers will be allowed to make free local calls to one fixed landline number their registered names,”Shukla told Greater Kashmir. He said the new scheme is a gift to people from the BSNL on the eve of Eid-ul-Adha and Diwali.
Giving details, Shukla said from the new mobile number, the rates for local and STD calls are only 1 paisa per second whereas calls to other operators will be at 1.2 paisa per second for local and STD calls.
He said the BSNL has more than 90,000 customers in the Valley. “However it was seen that some landlines subscribers were churning towards mobile. The landline have many advantages like better voice, bigger numbers to operate, CLI, Broadband and Fax facility which is not possible on mobiles and also parallel telephones in more than one room,” he said.
He exuded hope that all the 90,000 subscribers will avail benefit of free talking this scheme and that new customer are expected to subscribe to landline connections.
