Guv, CM greet people on Eid-ul-Azha
Jammu, Nov 16: The Governor, N N Vohra and Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah have greeted the people on Eid-ul-Azha and hoped that this auspicious occasion would be a harbinger of peace, progress and prosperity in the State.
In his message, the Governor observed that festivals strengthen the bonds of communal harmony, brotherhood, amity, tranquility and their celebration revives the glorious pluralistic ethos for which the people of J&K had been known for centuries.
In his Eid Message, Omar Abdullah described the holy day an occasion of expressing sincerity and belief in righteousness to seek the munificence and forgiveness from the Almighty Allah.
Omar said the philosophy of Eid-ul-Azha teaches us to make sincerity and truthfulness benchmark in undertaking all activities in the life. “Allah sees the spirit behind performing our service to Him and the people in general. He tests our sincerity on this count and showers His blessings accordingly”, Omar elaborated.
“Let us celebrate the Eid with religious sanctity and traditional fervor of amity and brotherhood and spread the message of love and peace to all” he said and called for sharing Eid joys with poor and needy, the essence of Eid celebrations.
Meanwhile, the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Samoon also greeted the people and hoped that the Eid would bring prosperity and welfare for the whole community of the state.
DGP FELICITATES PEOPLE
The Director General of Police, Kuldeep Khoda has also felicitated the people, policemen and their families, on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha.
In his message, he said; let the Eid bring peace and prosperity to all the people of the State.
Additional Director General of Police, K Rajindera and Inspector General of Police, S M Sahai also extended their greetings to the people of J&K.
